I looked after the PG tips account for a few years, which means you spend a lot of time hanging out with a knitted Monkey. Below is a brand ad we made to celebrate the feeling of catching up with loved ones over a cup of tea. Directed by Steve Bendalack at Hungry Man.
When we started working on the account the brand had no online presence so we made them a Facebook page and began interacting. We launched with an intro film on the page which showed Al & Monkey broadcasting to the world of the internet from the cupboard under the stairs. Soon it was the most engaged UK brand on Facebook.

The idea was to just be entertaining and keep creating content for the page, so we'd shoot little updates from the cupboard under the stairs:
Or we'd make a collection of Valentine's ecards for you to send via Facebook, which we pitched as having been designed by Al & Monkey.
Whenever we shot anything for TV we'd find a way to also make content for the Facebook page. PG tips wanted to launch their Special Moments Range with a tag on an old ad (made by Stu Outhwaite and Ben Middleton), so we wrote a tag that could lead to a collection of films that told the story of the range on Facebook. When we needed to make a short cash giveaway ad for TV, we used the shoot to also make a humorous outtake film for our Facebook fans.
We recorded lots of radio for PG tips - this one made it into Campaigns top 10 radio ads of 2012:
I was pretty much Monkey for 2 years, writing everything he came out with, including his Private View:
